The
MagSens provides automated impulses to structures and components
and registers the signal shape of the mechanical impulse.

Description
The
MagSens is an automated, electromagnetic impulse hammer. A time-variable
TTL signal controls the acceleration of the hammer and thus the
impact energy applied to excite the component. An integrated sensor
registers the excitation signal and sends this back to a central
evaluation unit. The hammer springs back to its initial position.
The entire process takes less than 100 ms.
Example:
In
the series production of deep-drawn sheet metal components, a test
station is integrated behind a critical stage in the production
process. Each component is then tested within milliseconds using
the MagSens. The resultant signal is then automatically evaluated.
If a component has a crack, this changes its rigidity, which in
turn leads to an alteration in the signal registered. This means
it is possible to provide individual non-destructive quality control
for all components produced.
